The colour is an intense purple with deep reflections.
The approach is marked by notes of mocha, cassis, cocoa, then giving way to a great harmony in the mouth, imprinted with very elegant tannins while finesse.

The year is mainly marked by a severe drought with -30% water compared to the average. Looking back, we experienced a dry autumn, a slightly cold winter, light regular rains throughout the spring, ending with a very driest summer with only 20mm of water in July and August!
Thanks to the micro-climate and the care given to the vines by our teams, the berries benefi ted from slow and healthy ripening, despite the drought and, above all, the heatwave that occurred the day before the harvest.

The 2023 harvest historically short! Intense 46th harvest of the Great Wines! A harvest at a steady pace from Monday August 28 to September 14. 17 uninterrupted days, more than 15 nationalities, 50 to 60 cutters plus our vineyard and cellar teams, working for almost three weeks in the heart of the Gassac Valley.
CELLARING ADVICE
If your cellar is cool (12° to 16°C), you can keep your Mas de Daumas Gassac for several years.
If your cellar is not cool, or if you fear the passage of time, don’t hesitate to drink your Mas de Daumas Gassac wines as soon as it finishes maturing, at 2 years/3 years, 5 years!

Know that there are no absolute great wines; only great bottles! Those drunk in a moment of serenity.
Know also that the Cabernet Sauvignon of the Médoc, from the days before clones, produces incomparable, lively wines, rich in the talent to age beautifully.

The five lives of Mas de Daumas Gassac Red Wines Laid down in a cool cellar (14°-16°C, 57-60°F) even the oldest can happily wait with no problem for many years. However, being laid down in warmer temperatures will speed up the wines’ maturity.
